\nI finished lesson 1!!!!!! OK, so I cannot really say or understand anything yet, but at least I got through it! I have noticed that gender matters in the noun… and also later in the sentence. This example is going to be phonetic and, well, wrong, but something like:<\/p>\n
The girl drinks. = Lurki peer-ka-hey.
\nThe boy drinks. = Lurka peer-key-ha.<\/p>\n
Or something like that. I think the \u201cpeer\u201d is actually the verb… I think. So there\u2019s an agreement somewhere in the middle that relates back to the subject. There\u2019s even agreement when the subject is plural. But did you notice that MASCULINE is \u201ca\u201d & FEMININE is \u201ci\u201d? So wrong! (At least for someone who\u2019s been studying Spanish! Ha!)<\/p>\n
Oh, and to type a sound you have to use 2 keys! So \u201cma\u201d in namaste takes the \u201cc\u201d key, then the \u201cr\u201d key to be complete. (Rosetta Stone maps the standard keyboard to the necessary designs for Hindi. I have no idea what an actual Hindi keyboard would look like!!)<\/p>\n
All in all I think I\u2019m learning something… and that this is going to be fun! I\u2019m going to repeat lesson 1 tomorrow & see if any of it stuck. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
